Sensei Darren DeMarco
Founder & Head Instructor
With four decades of martial arts experience, Sensei Darren DeMarco brings a lifetime of knowledge, discipline, and dedication to every student who trains under his guidance. Beginning his journey in 1986, he earned the rank of Yondan (4th-degree Black Belt) in 2010. He studies and teaches Isshin Kempo, a modern evolution of Isshinryu that blends traditional martial arts principles with purposeful, practical and modern instruction.
In 2014, White Tiger Dojo was founded on the belief that meaningful conflict resolution begins from within. In contrast from the often narrow focus of contemporary martial arts programs, the dojo emphasizes a return to foundational principles through a well-rounded system of striking, grappling, submissions, and weapons training supported by the development of mental and emotional resilience.
Students at White Tiger Dojo learn to navigate conflict on every level: mental, verbal, emotional, and physical. Through dedicated practice, they cultivate the calm confidence needed to face challenges both in the dojo and in everyday life with strength and clarity.
His teaching philosophy centers on the belief that a calm and prepared mind and body can navigate any of life's challenges. He adapts his instruction to each student's learning style, ensuring that no one is left behind, and everyone is pushed to grow.
Sensei Darren works with students from the KinderKubs program (ages 4+) through adult Black Belt candidates, and personally oversees every belt promotion at the dojo.
“This isn't just about kicks and punches. It's about teaching people how to carry themselves through life, with purpose, awareness, and respect.”
